Are you taking multiple medications for different health issues? Are those medications being prescribed by different doctors from different areas of medical expertise? Responsible medical professionals will ask you for a list of all medications you are taking before they prescribe a new medication. If you complain to your doctor about a specific health issue and he/she is ready to prescribe a medication without asking you about other medications you are taking, you should ask your doctor one simple question. “Will the medication you are prescribing have a negative interaction with any medications I am currently taking?” If your doctor responds “NO” quickly without going over your current medications, it is time to talk to a pharmacist and pose the same question to the pharmacist with a list of all your medications. Do your research, get multiple streams of information. Medications can do more harm than good if they are not properly monitored.
