What are Ions? Ions are molecules and molecules are made up of one or more atoms. Molecules known as ions are either lacking or gaining an electrical charge. A negative ion gains an electrical charge and has a positive effect on humans. A positive ion loses an electrical charge and has a negative effect on humans. Negative ions can increase the flow of oxygen to the brain.
The best place to surround your body with negative ions is in nature where water flow is abundant such as the beach where waves are crashing, waterfalls, creeks, riverbanks, in a rain storm. Other places you can absorb negative ions within a city are areas with large fountains such as a city park or even a shopping area.
Researchers have been studying negative ions for over 100 years and have concluded there is much evidence to show that negative ions have a positive effect on humans. Negative ion charged environments can:
- inhibit or kill the growth of harmful bacteria, viruses, and mold species
- reduce fatigue
- boost the immune system
- reduce stress
- increase serotonin levels (for better mood)
- increase carbs & fats metabolism
- strengthen bones
