When you head to the grocery store aisle to pick up your cooking oil there are so many choices. Since the 1990’s olive oil hit the American market and has been growing ever so popular as science has confirmed its health validity.
Research shows that olive oil has a high antioxidant value. Particularly the extra virgin olive oil is considered the best health value of the olive oil family, mainly because it is less processed that its counterparts. Not only does olive oil have the beneficial fatty acids, it also contains moderate amounts of vitamins E and K. Antioxidants may help to reduce your risk of chronic diseases like heart attack and stroke. It also can protect your blood cholesterol from oxidation. Another benefit of using olive oil regularly is it contains nutrients which can kill off harmful bacteria or at least inhibit their growth.
BE SURE to read the ingredients label of your olive oil as with anything when it becomes popular there is a lot of money invested in marketing to convince you to buy and the product may not be all that it claims, but the ingredients have to listed by law as to what is in the bottle.
